Training, training, training

Sometimes I feel like all I am ever doing is training. Wake-up, eat, walk dog, work, eat, work, eat, workout, sleep. I enjoy my workouts but this past week has truly felt like an effort.

This week I may try to do morning workouts and see if I can make that happen. But I came home this week and it as just like “ugh, do I really have to do a 30 min swim and a 60 min bike”?

Anyone else ever feel like you just want your race to be here so you can stop working towards it? I know I’m only in week 6 of an 8 week training plan but I feel like I’m so close to my race but still 2 weeks of hard training away from it!

    Absolutely!! My life started to feel like Groundhog Day, and I started to feel like a VERY boring person (it was the exhaustion talking). A wonderful friend talked sense into what seemed like my tired repetitive life and told me “I’m proud of you and you’ve worked hard and will do great even if you miss a couple of workouts to go out with friends or just chill in your happy spot at home.” It was true. I wasn’t as tired. I found excitement for training again, and I actually did better than expected for my first Tri. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Make time for friends and fun.
